Cranston man, juvenile arrested after firearm report near Cranston High School East (turnto10.com) — Police say a 19-year-old Cranston man and a juvenile were arrested after an Oct. 1 incident involving a reported firearm near Cranston High School East. Investigators tracked suspects from Reservoir and Park Avenues to Providence, and one suspect allegedly admitted having a gun on school grounds, with the broader investigation still ongoing.
   

3. RIDOT to begin overnight I-95 closures next weekend in Providence and Cranston (turnto10.com) — Expect major overnight I-95 disruptions affecting Cranston drivers on three upcoming weekends starting Oct. 16, as RIDOT closes lanes and ramps at the Route 10/Exit 33 interchange. Plan to use I-295 or Route 10 instead, since some ramps between I-95 and Route 10 in Cranston will be shut from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
   

4. STV Completes $74.5M Behavioral Healthcare Facility Renovation in Rhode Island (constructionowners.com) — A $74.5 million overhaul of Eleanor Slater Hospital's Regan Building in Cranston has wrapped up, modernizing about 120,000 square feet of behavioral healthcare space. The project upgraded core systems, security, and technology, aiming to create a safer, more efficient environment for patients and staff who rely on this state facility in Cranston.
   

5. RI Lottery Mega Millions, Numbers Midday winning numbers for Oct. 6, 2026 (newportri.com) — If you hit a Rhode Island Lottery prize of $600 or more, you'll need to head to Lottery Headquarters on Pontiac Avenue in Cranston to claim it. The latest Mega Millions, Numbers, Wild Money, and Millionaire for Life results from October 6 are listed so you can quickly check your tickets.
