Rhode Island Reports 341 New Cases Of Coronavirus; 13 Deaths
To date, there have been 8,962 total cases and 279 deaths.
PROVIDENCE, RI — Rhode Island reported 341 new cases of coronavirus Friday, as well as 13 additional deaths. There have been 8,962 cases in the state in total and 279 fatalities, according to the Rhode Island Department of Health.
As of Friday, 352 people were in the hospital. Of these, 76 were in intensive care units, and 51 require ventilators.
Gov. Gina Raimondo said the state's economy can begin to reopen after 14 days of declining or plateaued cases, as well as steady hospitalization rates. Raimondo said she hopes to begin to reopen the state after the current stay-at-home order expires on May 8.
