Rhode Islanders Can Run Essential Errands In MA, Baker Clarifies
Rhode Islanders who live on the border of Massachusetts can go to the grocery store without needing to quarantine.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Rhode Islanders who live on the border of Massachusetts can cross over for essential errands without breaking the state's new travel restrictions, Gov. Charlie Baker clarified Friday.
On Tuesday, Baker announced that Rhode Island was removed from Massachusetts' low-risk states list, meaning that anyone coming into the state from Rhode Island will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days or show proof of a negative COVID-19 test. The new policy goes into effect Friday.
Several Rhode Island towns are adjacent to Massachusetts, making it easier for residents to run errands just over the border. On Friday, Baker said certain activities are exempt from the order, including grocery shopping, banking, commuting for work and medical care.
