- Rhode Island Man Arrested More Than 2 Dozen Times Sentenced For Drug Trafficking: A Rhode Island man who was previously arrested more than two dozen times and convicted on close to four dozen charges, including assault, domestic assault, and drug trafficking, was sentenced Thursday to six years in federal prison for leading a drug trafficking ring.
- RI Environmental Officials Setting Fires To Prevent Large Wildfires: In 2022, Rhode Island experienced more than 80 wildfires. Smaller planned fires could reduce that number in 2023, state officials said.
- Obituary: Former Portsmouth Police Chief Dennis Seale, 68: Dennis Seale served as Portsmouth's police chief from 1998 to 2006. Seale, 68, died last week after battling cancer.
- Cranston Police K-9s Receive Bullet, Stab Protective Vests Donation: Cranston police said the vests will be embroidered and say "In memory of K-9 Lex." Lex died in September 2022 after battling cancer.
