RI State Police Issue First Winter Storm Stella Report

The state police are issuing reports every two hours.

SCITUATE, RI— The Rhode Island State Police has issued the first of its regular Winter Storm Stella reports. They will be sending storm updates approximately every two hours. "The updates will include information on road conditions, accidents and other storm-related incidents handled by State Police throughout the state," spokeswoman Laura Kirk said, and will be posted on the state police website, Facebook and Twitter pages.

Here is the 9 a.m. report.

"Snow and slippery travel conditions were reported throughout the state early this morning, however traffic was light and no major incidents have occurred as of 9 a.m., according to Rhode Island State Police.
Colonel Ann Assumpico, Superintendent of State Police and Director of Public Safety, urged motorists to stay off the roads if possible to allow highway crews to clear the roads as the storm intensifies."
