RIPTA Offering Veterans Free Service On November 11
The service will run on a Sunday/holiday schedule on Monday.

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority is offering all veterans free service in honor of Veterans Day, the department announced Thursday. Veterans can also ride for free to Saturday's Salute to Veterans Waterfire in Providence.
To ride, veterans need only show their vet ID card or driver's license with a "V."
"This is just one way of thanking our veterans for their service to our country," said RIPTA's CEO, Scott Avedisian. "RIPTA continues to work with the state Office of Veterans Services to look at the transportation needs of our veterans here in Rhode Island."

On Nov. 11, RIPTA will be running on a Sunday/holiday schedule, meaning that buses will be running on a reduced schedule. All offices, including Kennedy Plaza, will be closed and the statewide RIde program will only run ADA trips. THere will be no Flex service, except in Route 210 in Kingston.
"Rhode Island veterans have sacrificed so much in service of our nation. While we can never repay the debt we owe them, this is one small way we can show our gratitude and appreciation," Governor Gina Raimondo said.
