Roger Williams Park Zoo: Buy Rainforest-Safe Candy This Halloween

The zoo provided a list of candy brands that are committed to only using sustainable palm oil.

CRANSTON, RI — Halloween is just over a week away, which means it's time to stock up on candy for crowds of trick-or-treaters. But before you fill your cart, the Roger Williams Park Zoo asked that you make sure your chocolate bars are rainforest-friendly.

On Tuesday, the zoo published a list of candy brands that are members of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil, and are therefore committed to helping endangered species by only using sustainable palm oil in candy production.

"This Halloween let’s make sure the world doesn’t get any spookier for our animal friends by choosing rainforest-safe candy!" the zoo said.
