The Falcons boys basketball team has not been able to pick up a league victory yet. However, they did cross a small barrier, by scoring 58 points on Tuesday night at Portsmouth. It was the first time all season they scored over 50 points in a league game, however, Portsmouth won it 73-58. On Friday night, West hosts 1-5 East Providence, a prime opportunity to get their first league victory.
Cranston West's girls basketball team sits in sixth place in Division I, and won a close road contest 52-48 against Chariho on Tuesday night. Their next game is Saturday against Coventry.
The Thunderbolts girls basketball team is 3-3 in Division II South and needs to build some momentum to build a playoff push. These next few weeks will be critical towards East's season and it will be important for them to string together some victories. On Friday night they will have a tough test, as they travel to first place Narragansett High School's gym.
