West Boys are Tennis Champs

The Cranston West Boys's tennis team rolled through the regular season without a loss and the perfection continued to this weekend at Slater Park in Pawtucket, where they defeated East Greenwich 4-1 for the Rhode Island Interscholastic League Division II Championship.

"It was a heck of a season," said coach Steve Matzner in an interview with the Providence Journal.

Juniors Will Accetta and Brandon Bichajian won 6-2 and 6-1 in doubles. Senior Mike DeRobbio won 6-2, 6-1; seniors Ryan Durigan and Jared McMullen win 6-4, 6-4 in doubles and junior Dan Accetta won 6-2, 6-4.
