What's Open, Closed on Martin Luther King Day
it's a federal holiday, but most retail stores and restaurants are open.

Martin Luther King Day is a federal holiday held on the third Monday of January. It celebrates the life and achievements of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. State and federal offices close in observance of the holiday, while retail stores and most other businesses generally open.
Here’s a look at what’s open and what’s closed on Monday, Jan. 16:

- Town offices: Closed
- Schools: Closed
- Libraries: Closed
- Banks: Closed, except for some supermarket branches
- Post offices: Closed
- Retail stores: Open
- Grocery stores: Open
- Liquor stores: Open
RIPTA Schedules
RIPTA is on the Sunday/Holiday schedule on Monday, January 16, 2017 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Also on Monday, Flex Services will not be available, except for Route 210 (Kingston Flex Service), which will run on the Sunday schedule from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
RIPTA offices, including the Photo Identification and Ticket Sales Offices in Kennedy Plaza, will not be staffed on the holiday. In addition, the Flex Service reservation line (1-877-906-FLEX) and the RIde reservation line (461-9760) will not be staffed on the holiday.
