 1. ACADEMY PLAYERS KICKS OFF VALENTINE’S DAY WEEKEND ON A ROMANTIC NOTE

A. R. Gurney’s Pulitzer Prize-nominated dramatic play “Love Letters” centers on the lives of just two characters, Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III, over a nearly-50-year time span. Using the epistolary form in which a novel is written as a series of documents, the actors sit side by side at tables and read notes, letters and cards. Though their lives are separated, through their correspondence, they discuss their hopes and ambitions, dreams and disappointments, victories and defeats that have passed between them.
