Best Friends Reunite on the Ice for Yankee Conference

Bruno Balkcom and Gunnar Fontaine have both been named to the U-12 RI Yankee Conference Team.  The boys will represent RI at a Festival in Burlington, VT in late March and will participate against similar
teams from Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Vermont.  It is a chance for Rhode Island Players to have fun, show their skills and be seen by numerous
scouts from prep schools, colleges and junior teams. 

Over 60 boys tried out and Bruno was chosen as one of six defensemen and Gunnar was chosen as one of
nine forwards. 

Even though the boys had been teammates on the 2000 AAA Elite Providence Capitals for three years, Gunnar made the move over to the 2000 AAA Elite South Shore Kings this season.  The boys are now opponents on the ice, but they are still best friends and are looking forward to being teammates once again at Yankee Conference!
