Art & Fun Abounds At EG Art Festival

The second half of East Greenwich's arts weekend extravaganza unfolded on Saturday, when more than 100 artists, food vendors and performers gathered on the campus of New England Tech under sunny skies for the EG Art Festival. The annual Summer's End concert was held on Friday.

The festival was put on by Festival Fete, a R.I.-based art festival production company. Jen Neuguth, of Festival Fete, said she was thrilled with the festival.

"The East Greenwich Art Festival was a huge success," she said Sunday. "The artists were all very pleased with the number of people that visited the show."

Neuguth said an estimated 10,000 people visited the Saturday event.

Originally, the festival was to be held in downtown East Greenwich, but logistics required a more room and easier parking and New England Tech stepped forward.

"The location worked to our benefit because we were essentially at the
crossroads of EG and all traffic coming in and out of town," said local festival liaison Lisa Sussman.

Organizers hope to make this a yearly event in the same way was Summer's End.
