From The Artist: I am intrigued by color in its infinite variety. It is especially interesting to see that a color can appear to change its hue when adjacent to another color. As an artist it is exciting to develop one’s own palette, and to experiment with the visual effects of color combinations.

Nature is my inspiration, and I appreciate the infinite variety of colors, textures, shapes and light I witness. It is a privilege for me to be visually connected to nature in general, and in particular to the energy in nature—a running brook, birds nesting or feeding their young, a wave reaching its crescendo and children at play. I am inspired to capture these energetic moments on camera and canvas. Painting flowers is such a joyful experience for me that I consider blossoms magical. I often completely lose track of time and enter a transcendent state of mind in the presence of flowers. In my journey to challenge my hands to develop what my eyes see, I am in a constant state of learning.
About The Artist: In addition to professional artist, Nina is a psychotherapist and a retired elementary teacher. She is an artist member of the Providence Art Club, the Attleboro Art Museum, the South County Art Association, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society and the Wickford Art Association. Each October the Artist participates in the West Bay Open Studio Tour.
