Five fun things to do in the area today

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do today and tonight. Luckily, there’s lots to do nearby, and Patch is coming to the rescue with the best bets for how to spend your free time. Check out our picks for the local activities to hit and places to explore.

The talented folks at invite you and your friends to come and join them for some fun, with or without your acoustic instrument, at their weekly bluegrass jam. Every third Thursday of the month after classes are through, the store opens its doors to anyone who enjoys β€œa Pickin’ β€˜n’ a Grinnin’” to the sounds of the old-time music from the hills of Kentucky that’s enjoying a resurgence today. All skill levels, as well as lucky listeners, are always welcome for an evening of informal music and fun.

Why Go: This is a great way to support and encourage the arts in our youngest future musicians.

Why Go: A great excuse to break out the snow shoes, and head for the great nighttime outdoors to discuss the survival of plants and animals as well as lunar folklore.
