Chamber Golf Outing Benefits Local Organizations

Checks given to three groups.

The East Greenwich Animal Protection League, East Greenwich Little League and Rhode Island Community Food Bank all benefited from the recent Chamber of Commerce Fall golf outing.

This week Chamber Director Steve Lombardi and Walter Monroe of Bank Newport, the main event sponsor, presented a check to EGAPL Secretary Renee Bucklin. Checks were sent to the other two recipients.

Bucklin said the donation will greatly help with the care of 15 dogs and 35 cats currently waiting for adoption. She, and all EGAPL members are volunteers, who raise around $100,000 each year for the care of homeless animals.
