Custom House Coffee Is Keeping Up With the Competition
With their recently approved liquor license, Custom House Coffee plans to extend its beverage and food offerings.

In just a few weeks, is going to have the best of both worlds at its Main Street location. According to owner Mark Libby, as soon as it receives its formal liquor license, Custon House Coffee will begin offering upscale martinis, specialty coffee drinks with added liquor, high-end wines and beers, along with a few added items to their food menu.
Libby says although business in their East Greenwich store has been steady since it opened about a year ago, one of its main competitors, , has a full liquor license, which is part of what prompted Libby to pursue the license for his business.
“Our business is growing each day and we are always looking for more opportunity to grow,” Libby said. “People who come in enjoy the coffee and the experience.”

Besides serving alcohol, they will be expanding their food menu to include light appetizers and more dinner items.
“Our driving force is still going to be coffee, but we wanted to extend all of our menus,” Libby said.

Even with the liquor license, they won’t start serving alcoholic beverages until after lunch and the cafe will only be open till 10 or 11pm, according to Libby.
Council President Michael Isaacs said that Custom House Coffee has always been in compliance with laws and regulations.
“We saw no reason not to grant the license to a business with such a good track record,” Isaacs said. “We want to help our mainstream businesses and restaurants to prosper when we are able to.”
