Were you a Dead Head back in the day?

Even if you weren’t, there’s something eternally appealing about the music of The Grateful Dead.

Combining the sensibilities of folk with a dose of innovative improvisation, the Dead brought together generations of music lovers under a roof of love and free spirited awe. And for some, the Dead evoked a fervor among die-hard fans that bordered on spirituality with legions of fans following band from venue to venue for decades.

Though legendary band leader Jerry Garcia has passed on to another realm, The Grateful Dead’s music lives on through their epic catalog of albums.

But the Dead have always been best served live and there’s no question that no studio release can capture the magic of the Dead on stage.

Thankfully, there’s a band who have taken the torch and kept that spirit flowing — Playing Dead.

Playing Dead is known as one of the top Grateful Dead cover bands in the country. And on Saturday, they’ll be truckin’ into The Greenwich Odeum to usher in a few hours of Hell in a Bucket and a Box of Rain.

The music, in true Dead fashion won’t be Hard to Handle. You’ll feel the Good Lovin’ and won’t want it to stop ‘Till The Morning Comes.

They’ll jam and see where the feelings take them.

As the song title states, when it comes to the dead, The Music Never Stopped.

Tickets are $15. Beer and wine will be available at the show. For tickets, go here: https://odeum.ticketleap.com/dead/dates/Sep-20-2014_at_0800PM
