Isaacs Top Vote Getter in Council Race; Newcomers Win Big in School Committee

There will be many new faces in East Greenwich town government next year.

With 200 mail ballots yet to be counted, East Greenwich will see many new faces on the Town Council and School Committee next year.

In the Town Council race, Michael B. Isaacs (R), currently the council president, was the top vote getter with 3,284 votes, or 15.9 percent. He is followed by Mark Schwager (D), with 2,888 votes; Suzanne McGee Cienki (R), with 2,827 votes; Sean M. Todd (R), with 2,552 votes; and William C. Stone (D), with 2,500 votes.

Unless mail ballots push Edward J. Field (R), who sits sixth with 2,325 votes, over Stone, the makeup of the new council will continue a Republican majority.
