Council Suspends 'Indefinitely' Deduct Meter Elimination (eastgreenwichnews.com) — East Greenwich's Town Council has reversed course and indefinitely suspended its plan to eliminate sewer deduct meters, after residents objected to poor communication and short notice. Quarterly sewer billing is still moving ahead, meaning users will receive three separate bills this fall to catch up on past usage, so homeowners should budget and watch due dates closely.
   

2. Man Throws Rock At Car In East Greenwich: Cops (patch.com) — East Greenwich police report that a man was arrested after a rock was thrown at an occupied car in the Panera parking lot on Division Road, damaging the vehicle's hood. Officers tracked down a suspect moments later at the nearby Cumberland Farms, where he was taken into custody on vandalism and disorderly conduct charges.
   

3. Youths Help Clear Trails at New Land Trust Property (eastgreenwichnews.com) — East Greenwich's new Tanner-Clark Preserve just got 1.5 miles of fresh trails thanks to a week of hard work by the Audubon Society's Youth Conservation League, local teens, and land trust volunteers. The town is still working on a dedicated parking access via the New England Wireless and Steam Museum, but residents can already reach the property from Whitetail Lane off Frenchtown Road.
