Steve Filippou To Open Twisted Dogs On Main Street
New location will feature gourmet hot dogs
Twisted Dogs is right across the street from at 431 Main and is the fifth restaurant owned by members of the Filippou family. The other operations are in Oakland Beach, Exeter and North Kingstown.
The location, which  previously housed a sandwich shop and then - briefly - , has been renovated as an express take-out and sit-down gourmet hot dog shop.
Steve Filippou says he’s opening the shop because he figured it was about time for something like it to come to Main Street, and the nearby location will make it easy to manage.

Plans call for hours of 11 a.m. to 6 or 7 p.m., but that may be expanded once the operation is up and running.
The menu will include three types of hot dogs, the New York-style weenie, deep fried or grilled Saugy Franks and the traditional hot dog with many variations.

The only sandwich is a barbecued pulled pork, but there will be plenty of cheeseburgers, home-cooked fries, onion rings, chicken fingers and fries.Â
The building has a take out window, which will probably be used next spring, as will the outside seating. The spring and summer menu will be expanded to include doughboys and other summer items.
The Filippous have over 40 years of experience in the food business and Steve says they have hopes for even more growth.Â
