A Full Weekend of Music, Comedy, and Drama
Edgar Allan Poe, Waterfire, and Mutants top this week's list of events.

This has the potential to be an exciting weekend. There are lots of great events going on in the area, and there's no reason why you couldn't schedule a couple for the same evening. How about a catching a performance at Trinity Rep., followed by a stroll through Waterplace Park during Waterfire? Sounds good, doesn't it?
- Lupo's welcomes Vanna this Friday night, along with Auburn, Lions Lions, Within the Ruins, Half-Hearted Hero, From Atlantis, and Malachi. Tickets for all 7 bands are just $13. By the way, there's no truth to the rumor that Pat Sajak will be joining Vanna.
- The Completely Fictional - Utterly True - Final Strange Tale of Edgar Allan Poe is in the midst of a 6 week run that is nearing its end at Trinity Rep. Perfromances begin at 7:30 p.m., and tickets start at $12.
- Comedian Danny Kelly visits the Rhode island Comedy Connection this Saturday for two shows, at 8 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. Tickets are $15, and he will be joined by fellow comedian Dan Chron.
- X-Men: First Class opens on Friday, June 3rd. This latest installment in the X-Men series stars James McAvoy, Laurence Belcher, Michael Fassbender, Caleb Landry Jones, and Bill Milner.
- Also this Friday is Hot 106's Hot Night at the Dunkin Donuts Center. Performers include Wiz Khalifa, Lupe Fiasco, Fabolous, Jeremih, New Boyz, and Lil Twist. The show begins at 7p.m., and tickets start at $25. It's a great show for those not bothered by poor spelling.
- There will be another Waterfire lighting this Friday sponsored by the Providence College Alumni Association and Bank of America. It begins at sunset, so get there early for a good parking place.
- Daniel O'Donnell plays the Providence Performing Arts Center this Friday at 7 p.m. O'Donnell will be playing a mix of country, pop, and traditional Irish Standards. It promises to be a great night for those looking to enjoy their Irish heritage.
