Fun Times And No Scandals This Weekend
Classic rock, a new sci-fi film, and a hypnotist are on the agenda.

It's been a long week. I'm going to be blunt: I'm sick of hearing about political scandals. Thankfully, there's a fun-filled weekend coming up, so grab a Coke and a weiner, and check out what's going on nearby (no hotel room necessary). I'm sure a wonderful affair awaits!
- Grab a meal and a few drinks, and check out DJ Primitive at Bar 101 in Johnston this Friday night.
- Saves the Day and The Get Up Kids visit Lupos this Friday. The show begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are just $19.
- Comic hypnotist Frank Santos visits Catch A Rising Star this Friday night at 10:15 p.m. Tickets: $22.50. Watching your friends make fools of themselves: Priceless.
- Super 8 opens this week in theaters across the area. The film focuses on a group of friends that witness a terrible train crash that might not have been an accident. The film stars Kyle Channing, Elle Fanning, Ron Eldard, Noah Emmerich, and Gabriel Basso.
- "Who Are You?" If you're a rock fan, I have a suggestion you might like. Who's Next, a local band playing hits from The Who, takes the stage at The Lighthouse Bar at Twin River. The free show begins at 8:30 p.m.
- Brian Beaudoin play two shows at the Comedy Connection this Saturday at 8 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. Tickets for each show are $15.
