Get Out: Your Weekend Planner

Every Thursday, JohnstonPatch lists great weekend events and activities in and around our town.

At Mohr Library: Drop-in crafts on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for kids older than 3 years old. Supplies provided; creativity encouraged.

Audubon Society: It's getting nice enough to go outside — head over to the Audbon Society for its Pysanky Workshop. What's Pysanky? It's a Ukrainian egg-dyeing craft. All supplies provided — be sure to wear clothes that can get premanently stained. At 3 p.m. — weather permitting — there's a nature walk scheduled.

Providence Children's Museum: Kids from 3 to 11 years of age are invited to the Museum's "Magnet Play" on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free with $8.50 admission; check with local libraries to see if they have passes available that reduce the admission to $2.

PPAC: The Tony Award-wining musical "Next to Normal" will be playing at The Providence Performing Arts Center all weekend. Tickets start at $41.

Oldies: The Kingston Trio will be playing at Veterans Memorial Auditorium this Friday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $25.

Dunks At The Dunk: The Harlem Globetrotters make their annual visit to the Dunkin Donuts Center this weekend. There will be two performances: Friday at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday at 1 p.m. Tickets start at $33.65. If the Globetrotters play the Generals again, I have a feeling they'll win.

A Night of Laughs: Comedian Sal Richards visits Catch A Rising Star at Twin River this weekend for 3 performances. There will be one performance Friday evening at 8 p.m. and two performances on Saturday at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.  Tickets are $20.
