Grab & Go — Great Places To Take The Kids

JohnstonPatch has your list of events and activities for the little ones.

At Mohr Library: Drop-in Crafts continue Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Parents and kids ages 3 and up are welcome to stop by and complete a self-directed art project.

Providence Children's Museum:

  • The Rhode Island Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers presents a "Young Engineers" event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday for kids ages 5 to 11. 
  • On Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:15 a.m., the Dominion Foundation performs "What's So Funny About Trash?" Four 20-minute show for ages 5 to 11.
  • Hours: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. $8.50 per person, kids under 12 months are free. Members of Neighborhood Health Plans receive free admission.

Roger Williams Park Zoo: Not only is the zoo open — it's half price! $6 for adults, $4 for kids 3 to 12. This weekend, you can celebrate "Zoo Thousand and Eleven."

Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with last admission at 3:30 p.m.

Museum of Natural History, Providence: Located in Roger Williams Park, the Museum hosts "Vault Tours" every day at 1 and 3 p.m. through Feb. 27. Tickets are $5 for adults and kids over 7, children 4 to 7 are $4; sorry, no admission for kids under 4.
