Great Escape: Indoor and Outdoor Destinations
The season's first lighting of Waterfire, concerts, and comedy round out the weekend.

This week, there's a nice mix of comedy, music, movies, and outdoor events.
- Waterfire is back! The first lighting of the season will be May 28. As an added treat, the TD Bank Ballroom will be open for an evening of dancing. Performers include Roger Ceresi & the All Starz, and DJ Shawneemac. There will also be dance lessons and performances from Providence Swings.
- The Young Adults, who aren't too young any more, reunite for three shows this weekend at The Met. The doors will open at 8 p.m. and the shows will start at 9 p.m. this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- The Hangover Part II debuts in theaters on May 26. If you haven't seen the trailer, you should check it out. The Hangover Part II stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong, and Paul Giamatti.
- On Saturday, May 28, the Twin River Events Center hosts Thunder From Down Under. The "Australain male revue show," as the Twin River site refers to it, begins at 8 p.m. and tickets start at $20. By the way, why is it that men go to strip clubs, but women go to "male revue shows?"
- Veterans Memorial Auditorium will be hosting Multicultural Festival 2011 on May 28 beginning at 1:30 p.m. The event includes theater, dancers, acrobats, and much more, from various countries. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.
- Calling all Van Halen fans! Bottoms Up, a Van Halen tribute band, will be performing a free concert at Twin River's Lighthouse Bar. "Jump" in your car early, because the show begins at 8:30 p.m. sharp on May 28. Have a good time, and "Dance the Night Away!"
- If you were a fan of Comedy Central's Mystery Science Theater 3000, you should definitely check out the Comedy Connection this week. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory Almost Live will be showing on a 135" screen, with accompanying wisecracks from a comedian. If you're looking for something different, this is it!
