Great Escape: Last Chance For Halloween Fun

There is lots to do this weekend to get you in the mood for Halloween. Do you have your costume ready?

Local Fun and Music:

  • It’s the last weekend for the Johnston Recreation Department’s . The Walk is set for 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 28 and 29 at Johnston Memorial Park to benefit Johnston Youth Soccer. Admission is $6 per person. The Johnston Parks and Recreation website has more details or you can call 272-3460.
  • Bar 101 is scheduled to hold a Halloween Bash on Oct. 29. Come in your costume for a chance to win prizes and enjoy a complimentary buffet and music starting at 7:30 p.m. No cover.

More Halloween Fun:

  • In the mood for a good murder mystery? The Lippitt House in Providence is holding an All-Halloween Murder Mystery from 8-11 p.m. on Oct. 28. Come in a vintage 1930s costume and enjoy live jazz music, cocktails, and dancing, as you become part of an interactive murder mystery performance by Chifferobe. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Visit www.preserveri.org for more details.
  • Rhode Island College (RIC) will hold its Annual Halloween Collage Concert on Oct. 28 at 8 p.m. in the Nazarian Center’s Sapinsley Hall. Enjoy the sounds of the RIC Chorus, Women’s Chorus, jazz ensemble and jazz combos all performing in costume. Admission is $10. But if you attend in costume, admission is free.  Visit: www.ric.edu.
  • There is no Phantom in this opera, but if you enjoy the sounds of opera music then you will not want to miss "A Centennial Tribute to Jussi Björling" at the RI Center for the Performing Arts at the Park Theatre in Cranston on Oct. 29 at 8 p.m. This engagement is the show’s only New England performance of its cross-country tour.
