Great Escape: Roller Derby Anyone?
Skate over to the Rhode Island Convention Center for one of Providence's best kept secrets.

Another Waterfire is planned for this weekend, but if you've also been thinking about sampling the local music scene, this weekend would be a great opportunity to do just that. Or, you could try something really different and check out Providence Roller Derby, which has a double-header scheduled for Saturday.
- Second Nature plays this Saturday night from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. For those of you who like the outdoors, the Patio Bar opens at 4 p.m.
- If you miss Thursday night Beer Pong at , don't worry. Widow McDaniels will be playing Saturday night, so you'll still have a — sorry — ball.
- Once again, Waterfire highlights this weekend's events. This Saturday, there will be live salsa dancing, The Jazz Band Romanza Orchestra, Andrew Anselmo "The Origami Guy," mime artist Michael Grande, and of course 80 bonfires. The best part? I just listed several things to see at Waterfire, and there are still plenty more I didn't mention.
- This Saturday night, WBRU presents Zox at Lupo's for a 10 year reunion concert. Not only did I not know they had been around for 10 years, but I wasn't aware they had disbanded! At any rate, here's an opportunity to see a terrific band at a terrific price ($12). The show starts at 6:30 p.m. with opening acts Brown Bird and Pete Kilpatrick Band.
