Video: Johnston High School Battle Of The Bands 2011
Clips from all of the performances at the Battle of the Bands, held April 2 at Johnston High School.
On Friday night, April 2, eight bands vied to be the best at 's Battle of the Bands before a crowd of hundreds of music fans. The performers all performed rock music, but their styles ran the gamut between melodic instrumentals, and hardcore metal.
The winner of the competition was She Said That, a four-piece rock band fronted by guitarist Briana White, with fellow members Vinny Bellows, Bruce Farley, and Michael "Cobra" Holton.
Second place went to Absence of Despair, a metal band who whipped the crowd into a frenzy, and played all original songs.
Third place went to The Gentlemen, which includes members from the Johnston Dance and Performing Arts group.
The accompanying video shows samples from all of the performances, with the top three bands in descending order of finish at the end of the clip.
