Wanted Thief Nabbed During Johnston Traffic Stop: Cops
The Providence woman was wanted on numerous warrants, police said.
JOHNSTON, RI — A wanted Providence woman was arrested on numerous warrants during a traffic stop in Johnston, police said.
Tanquasia Carpenter, 27, was pulled over and arrested on Hartford Avenue about 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.
Carpenter was arrested on warrants charging her with larceny, traffic offenses, failing to appear in court for a shoplifting case, failing to appear for a restitution payment in a bank fraud case, failing to appear in court for a simple assault and/or battery case, failing to appear for a restitution payment in a shoplifting and grand theft case, failing to appear for restitution review in a shoplifting and grand theft case, failing to appear in court for a technical violation charge in a simple assault and/or battery case, failing to appear in court for a technical violation charge in a shoplifting and grand theft cases, failing to appear in court for a technical violation charge in a bank fraud case, failing to appear in court for a technical violation charge in a shoplifting case, and failing to appear in court for a technical violation charge in a shoplifting and grand larceny case, according to the release.

Carpenter was processed at state police headquarters and later transported to Third District Court where she was arraigned as a Fugitive from Justice, the release said.
