Officers responded to a report of shots fired about 7:15 p.m. Sunday near the corner of Angell Road and Leslie way, according to the release.

"Upon arrival, officers determined that a road rage incident had occurred, during which a firearm was discharged," the release said.

"A description of the suspect vehicle was immediately disseminated to surrounding law enforcement agencies," according to the release. "The Providence Police Department subsequently located the vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop."

While investigators believe the shooting was an "isolated road rage incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the Lincoln community," the release said, police "will continue to maintain a visible presence in the area as the investigation continues."
