• Dad identifies Middletown crash victim as 1-year-old daughter (wpri.com) — A recent high-speed police pursuit that began in Portsmouth ended in a fiery crash on West Main Road in Middletown, killing a 1-year-old girl and seriously injuring two adults. Police say the driver faces multiple DUI and driving-to-endanger charges, while the child's father visited a growing roadside memorial and shared his grief over losing time he hoped to spend with her. 
• Newport International Boat Show opens Thursday with more than 450 boats across seven sites (whatsupnewp.com) — Middletown's own The Saltwater Edge is leading free fishing seminars and casting clinics at this week's Newport International Boat Show, giving local anglers a reason to head over. The four-day event features more than 450 boats, educational sessions, paid on-the-water classes, and a discounted Community Day for Newport County residents, with shuttles and parking options laid out in advance.
