• Middletown Schools Approve New Islanders 'M' Wave Logo (upriseri.com) — Middletown's School Committee has picked a new primary logo for the district and Islanders teams: a collegiate-style "M" with a wave that will appear on uniforms, gym floors and new school buildings. All schools, teams and clubs will eventually use a single, tightly controlled set of logos, colors and fonts once a full style guide and digital portfolio return for final approval.
   

• Zoning – Variances (rilawyersweekly.com) — A Newport County judge has sent a major Middletown zoning case back to the town's Planning Board, ruling members didn't spell out the specific facts justifying variances and waivers for a second building at 985 Aquidneck Avenue. The court isn't blocking the project outright, but is requiring the board to clearly tie evidence from the record to state standards before any approval can stand.
   

• Top Rhode Island high schools revealed in new national rankings (newportri.com) — Rhode Island's latest U.S. News & World Report high school rankings are out, and Middletown High School lands at No. 14 statewide in the top 25 list. While schools like Classical and Barrington lead the pack, the rankings give Aquidneck Island families another data point when comparing local options and celebrating how their home schools stack up against peers across the state.
