6 Candidate Vying for Donald Lally's Seat
Lally, a longtime state representative whose district covers Narragansett and South Kingstown, resigned last month.

Six candidates qualified for a special election to fill the seat of longtime Democratic State Rep. Donald Lally, who resigned last month.
Lally’s District 33 covers Narragansett and South Kingstown.

- C. Elizabeth Candas, Independent
- Susan Cicilline-Buonanno, Democrat
- Jason Colonies, Democrat
- Carol McEntee, Democrat
- James L. McKnight, Jr., Independent
- Robert A. Trager, Republican
The three Democrats will face each other in a primary May 5. The winner will face Candas, McKnight, and Trager in the the June 9 special election.
Lally served for 26 years. He said he resigned because he wants to spend more time with his family and devote time to his law practice.
