BIGGER Is Not ALWAYS Better...

     Over the course of this Summer Season, I have gone through 10+ pounds of sugar, so far, in my attempt at keeping the Hummingbirds happy and ‘well-fed’; this is in addition to the many flowering plants and shrubs in my yard which support their dietary needs, as well. It is, INDEED, a LOW-cost to pay for the entertainment and pleasure I garner, each day, from the ‘antics’ of these most amazing of avian. At this ‘stage of my life’ I am EASILY entertained...believe me! I make this remark quite ‘tongue-in-cheek’; yet, I am very serious when I say that, these days, I DO so enjoy the ‘simple’ things in life. I am grateful, at this point in time, that I AM able to appreciate all things ‘great and small’, as when we are younger...and sometimes NOT so young...we neglect to pay attention to and/or to recognize the beauty and importance of ‘life’ and it’s simplest of offerings; these, which, often, can actually be the MOST profound. Think about this for a moment, won’t you...the whole ‘stop and smell the roses’ ‘philosophy’? What if we NEVER took the time to do such...were always too busy or preoccupied to take note of Mother-Nature...God’s WONDROUS Creation(s)...too otherwise occupied to enjoy life’s simple pleasures? What then? Well...at the very LEAST we’d be missing out on some very special and much needed ‘down-time’; this a certainty. In addition, we would, in my opinion, be ‘lacking’ in the ability to find true pleasure in anything at all; for if we cannot experience it in the ‘little things’, it’s hard to derive it from anything, as far as I can tell. I dunno...All I do know for sure is this; that I awaken each morn and thank my Higher-Power for that, the mere-act of opening my eyes. I thank Him, also, for the love-filled life that I live and for ALL the things...each and every one...that I have, up to and including my ‘friends’ the ‘Hummers’; for you see...these days...I KNOW a MIRACLE when I see one, and am appreciative of the fact that I do! Just Sayin’...
