The performance will take place along a shaded woodland trail within the garden, creating an intimate setting that blends art with the surrounding landscape. Whether&nbsp;you’re a novice or a seasoned potter, this workshop offers a delightful&nbsp;way to unleash your inner artist as you craft a beautiful piece ofmicrowave-, oven-, and dishwasher-safe stoneware.&nbsp;You&nbsp;will also enjoy light refreshments provided by Rebekah, included with&nbsp;your $20 registration/workshop fee. Local Author Debra Zannelli Book Signing at Wakefield Books, 10am to noon. In Sister World: The Arrival, we are introduced to Terah, a planet in an alternate universe that is a mirror of Earth. Terah is at war, and their despotic ruler is bringing the war to Earth. The fate of Terah is in the hands of Kahill and Becarra, who brave the wormhole connecting both worlds to search for their mirrors and find a way to warn our world of the quiet invasion and help Earth fight to keep her freedom. Debra Zannelli began writing in high school, but put it aside for many years, returning to it in 1996, while recovering from surgery to remove a non-cancerous brain tumor, and completing her first book, Dark Night of The Soul. She is now the author of eight published novels, while also working as a teacher’s assistant. Inspired by both the insights, courage and resiliency of our youth, she wrote her Sister World Series with just a touch of whimsy as well as science that has been meticulously researched. No registration required for this in-store event.

No experience necessary — just bring your creativity and a love for
getting your hands dirty. Using traditional hand-building techniques,
you’ll shape and sculpt a unique piece that’s as functional as it is

We’ll make each server on June 7th and then you will return to
finish off your design during open studio hours.. Whether you’re a

Willi Ninja: Vogue Legend&nbsp;is an inspiring story of the incomparable dancer Willi Ninja, Grandfather of Vogue and star of the film Paris Is Burning. With an accessible text and dynamic illustrations, Joy Michael Ellison and Nabi H. Ali trace Willi’s path against the odds as he brings his signature moves to the dance style known as vogue and finds his spotlight at the Harlem drag balls where a performer known as Willi Ninja is born. Providing context, community, and comprehension of queer and trans culture for young history buffs, the lively narrative is followed by back matter delving into more details about Willi Ninja and what life was like during his time. Joy Michael Ellison is a writer, a professor of Gender and Women’s Studies at University of Rhode Island, and a grassroots, community activist. Their published books include Sylvia and Marsha Start a Revolution! They are interested in using stories, both fictional and true, to build community, document social movements, and imagine a liberated world, and believe that storytelling is integral to healing, transformation, resistance, and survival. Winifred Starbuck, forbidden from joining her parents on their final merchant voyage, does what any strong-willed eighteen-year-old would do: she stows away. As she drifts farther from shore, she uncovers a long-buried secret, and as she continues to chart her own course, she’ll have to plumb the depths of her courage to take on a world far bigger—and more dangerous—than she ever imagined. Julie Gerstenblatt is the author of Daughters of Nantucket, which won the New England Society Book Award for Fiction. She holds a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Teachers College, Columbia University and has taught everything from middle school English to graduate studies. Her essays have appeared in Huffington Post and Grown &amp; Flown, among others. A native New Yorker who has been visiting Nantucket since childhood, Julie now lives in coastal Rhode Island with her family and one very smart shichon poo. Rustic-chic private farm venue in scenic Stonington, CT 

Deans Mill Farm 

Built in the mid-1700s as a functioning livestock farm, Deans Mill Farm has gone through an evolution in recent decades. A full renovation of the historic buildings and rejuvenation of the surrounding 70+ acres has made the property into the incredible venue it is today. Deans Mill Farm now operates primarily as a private event space and five-room bed and breakfast tucked down a private road in Stonington, Connecticut. It shares its property with Dragonfly Equestrian Center and is home to dozens of horses. On the property lies meadows, hiking trails, beautiful fields and Dragonfly Disc Golf. The property can be rented for weddings, birthday parties and other special events. Additionally, the bed and breakfast can be rented by the room or reserved in its entirety for complete privacy. The Farm has the ability to host small private indoor events for up to 50 guests in the Farmhouse. Outdoor tented events are our specialty, with numerous locations on-site that are picturesque for your celebration. Outdoor tented celebrations can accommodate up to 250 guests.
