Melanie Benjamin In Conversation with Julie Gerstenblatt

Melanie Benjamin joins us to discuss her new novel, The Windsor Affair. Described as “The Crown meets The Real Housewives," Benjamin's latest recounts a scandalous affair, a power struggle for the throne, and a sensational rivalry between an English queen and an American social climber. The Windsor Affair is the story of the Abdication of Edward VIII, and the two women at the center of it all. Feuding Windsor brothers and their wives: some things, it seems, never change.

Melanie Benjamin is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of nine historical novels, including The Swans of Fifth Avenue, The Aviator's Wife, and The Children’s Blizzard. For more than fifteen years she has returned famous women to the center of their own stories. A theater-trained speaker, she lives in the Chicago area.

Julie Gerstenblatt is the author of Daughters of Nantucket and The Stargazer of Nantucket, and holds a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Teachers College, Columbia University and has taught everything from middle school English to graduate studies. Her essays have appeared in Huffington Post and Grown & Flown, among others.
