Changes At Commons, Main Street

This week's look at local business news

Gabriele's Karate & Kickboxing has left South Kingstown for a larger space in Narragansett. Formerly located at 55 Village Square Dr., Unit 3, in the South County Commons, the karate studio now occupies space in the Salt Pond Plaza at 91 Pt. Judith Rd. in Narragansett. That storefront formerly housed the Soccer Spot.

The former Sleepy's store in the Crossing at the Tower carries yet another new name. When Sleepy's bought the bankrupt Better Bedding chain last year it made the store at 3033 Tower Hill Rd. one in the Better Bedding chain. Now they have changed it into a location of another defunct chain that they merged with, 1-800-mattress.

Chameleon's Consignment Loft is continuing under a new owner. The resale shop, located in the Sawmill building at 213 Robinson St. will retain its focus on higher end, gently used women's apparel, shoes and handbags. The new owner is Patricia Burton and the new phone number for the store is 401-783-8007.
