Rhode Island Chef Named A James Beard Awards Nominee: The culinary scene in Rhode Island will get some love in the 2023 Restaurant and Chef Awards nominees announced Wednesday by the James Beard Foundation. Chef Sherry Pocknett, from the Sly Fox Den Too, in Charlestown, was recently named a nominee for the "Best Chef in the Northeast."
Narragansett Students Win Prize in C-SPAN Documentary Competition: Three Narragansett High School students received awards in C-SPAN's national documentary competition. Alexander Greenberg, Patrick Sabatino and Connor Haring were honorable mention prize winners in C-SPAN’s national 2023 StudentCam competition and will receive $250 for the documentary, "A Plastic Bay," about microplastics.
