Commercial Fisherman Dubbed Champion of Change by White House
Chris Brown was recognized by the Obama administration for his efforts to make fishing a sustainable industry here.

NARRAGANSETT, RI -- Commercial fisherman Chris Brown has received an award from the Obama administration, according to U.S. Sens. Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse.
Brown was honored with the “Champions of Change for Sustainable Seafood” award "for his outstanding work to promote sustainable fisheries in New England," they said.
“Chris has been a tremendous steward of our oceans, and he’s been an important voice for using our limited ocean resources wisely," they added. "The next generation of Rhode Island fishermen is better off because of Chris’s work in this generation to rebuild local fish stocks and plan for the effects of climate change.”
