Coronavirus In Narragansett: All Parks Closed
Surfaces such as playground equipment, picnic tables and benches are not being sanitized.
NARRAGANSETT, RI — In an effort to slow the spread of the new coronavirus in the town and discourage groups from gathering, the town of Narragansett has closed all parks for the near future. Frequently touched surfaces such as picnic tables, playground equipment and benches are not being sanitized, the town said in a statement.
At this time, fields, town beaches and walking trails remain open to the public, but residents are again reminded to use social distancing when using them. This means avoiding congregating in groups and leaving at least six feet of space between yourself and those around you.
The town has been under a state of emergency since March 16. Residents are asked not to come to the town hall, instead conducting business online or calling 401-789-1044 for assistance. All municipal court sessions have been postponed, as well.
