• Community set to honor local soldier missing since 1944 (independentri.com) — A long-missing World War II airman from a Narragansett family is finally being laid to rest with full military honors in nearby Wakefield, more than 80 years after his plane vanished over Thailand. Relatives recall the Prospect Street home where his parents received the dreaded telegram and the Narragansett memorial marker that carried his name for decades, as officials and family prepare to welcome him home at last. 
• Shortchanged RIPTA Flexes On Demand (ecori.org) — Narragansett residents can use RIPTA's Flex On Demand microtransit service for just $2 a ride, with an initial zone specifically covering Narragansett, South Kingstown, and Kingston. The app-based, ADA-compliant vans offer curb-to-curb trips, help fill gaps from recent bus cuts, and are part of a broader network of Flex zones that supporters say could be transformative if the state better funded public transit.
