Beachcombing for Families

Rhode Island families have been invited to join URI Marine Outreach Scientists today for a two-hour beach investigation experience. The group will explore Fort Getty, one of Rhode Island's unique coastal beaches.

This program gives young people a special chance to have their questions answered about the plants, animals, and minerals found on the beach.

  • Saturday, July 21 from 2 - 4 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 18 from 1 - 3 p.m.

These beachcombing events are free and open to the public. Pre-registration is required.

To register, please call the URI Office of Marine Programs at 401-874-6211.  Once registered, additional information will be sent to participants via e-mail.
