The Galilee Seafood Festival

The Galilee Seafood Festival, held in conjunction with the Galilee Fishing Tournament, is scheduled for September 8 and 9, 2012 at the Port of Galilee in Narragansett.

The Seafood Festival will run Saturday, September 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  and on Sunday, September 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Both events have been organized jointly by the Narragansett Parks & Recreation Department, the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management and the Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Association

The events have been designed "to celebrate and promote the recreational and commercial fishing industries, local seafood and the Port of Galilee as an important aspect of Rhode Island's economy, as well as a great source of recreation for both residents and visitors."

All proceeds from the Tournament and Seafood Festival will be donated to:

• Hasbro Children's Hospital
• The Jonnycake Center
• Narragansett Parks & Recreation Family Assistance Program.
