Unity Luncheon with Rev. John Dear, S.J., Peace Activist, and former Executive Director of the Fellowship for Reconciliation
In celebration of the legacey of ideas championed by Dr. King, we present the Unity Luncheon, which is a communal sharing of food, song, and reflection. Also celebrated is the application of Dr. Kings' legacy at the University of Rhode Island.
The URI Office of the Chaplains will present the Ninth Annual Peacemaker Award honoring a student, student organization, or member of the URI academic community whose goals and activities express a commitment to the pursuit of peace and nonviolence.
Following the Award, the event will be keynoted by Rev. John Dear, Author of A Persistent Peace: One Man’s Struggle for a Nonviolent World, who will be introduced by Dr. Paul Bueno de Mesquita.
