Football Rebels Face No. 2 Hendricken Tonight In Semifinals

Its do or die tonight for the South Kingstown Rebels, as they face No. 2 seeded Bishop Hendricken High School in Warwick for a chance to play La Salle Academy for the Division I title.

After an understandably tough first year in Division I, the South Kingstown Football Rebels have surged through the late season with several thrilling victories. They now find themselves only a game away from a chance to win the coveted Rhode Island Super Bowl.  

But the road to the final will undoubtedly be a tough one. The Rebels have been beaten by both teams in the regular season, losing a close battle to Hendricken on September 23 by a razor-thin margin of 21-20. The Rebels were thumped by top-seeded La Salle the following week by a score of 48-21, but rebounded with a 40-7 drubbing of Cranston West.

Football Poll: Rebels Stay At Number 3

The top three spots in the Rhode Island Sports Media football poll remain unchanged after last week's Thanksgiving games, with La Salle on top, Hendricken at number 2, and South Kingstown at number 3.
