Gov. Raimondo Bound for URI to Kick Off Rally

The governor is scheduled to speak at URI tomorrow in support of a $45 million plus bond for two construction projects for higher education.

KINGSTOWN, RI -- According to the Governor's Office, Gina Raimondo is scheduled to speak tomorrow at 2 p.m. on the URI Quad near Bliss Hall to kick off a ballot campaign, Vote Yes on Question 4.

The ballot question, "Leveraging Higher Education to Create 21st Century Jobs," would pay $45,500,000 for two construction projects related to the University of Rhode Island.

The bigger chunk -- the $25.5 million portion -- would go to improve Bliss Hall, one of the oldest buildings on the Kingstown campus. The construction project would include both an addition and renovations. Bliss Hall is part of the School of Engineering.
