Heavy Rain Could Bring Coastal Flooding Monday

It will also be unusually chilly.

Heavy rainfall today could lead to minor coastal flooding, especially during this evening’s high tide cycle, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm is expected to bring rain mainly after 10 a.m. with high temperatures of just 53 degrees inland and a little lower on the coast, according to the weather service.

The Coastal Flood Advisory will go into effect at 8 p.m. tonight and affects all Rhode Island counties.

A few vulnerable shore roads might experience flooding and splash over within an hour of high tide, though “significant coastal flooding” is not expected.

Showers are expected to continue through Tuesday.

Winds will increase to 15 to 30 mph on the coast and wind chills will drop into the middle 30s and lower 40s. If you plan on spending time outside, be prepared.
