Heavy Rains Wednesday, More Rain Later This Week
A coastal flood advisory ends at noon but more rain is coming Thursday and Friday.

Rhode Islanders have a soggy commute Wednesday and officials in communities across Rhode Island are bracing for possible street flooding.
The heavy rains are dumping water at a rate of about 1 inch per hour across most of Rhode Island this morning and a coastal flood advisory is in effect until noon.
The National Weather Service said in a special weather statement that motorists should be careful on the road and avoid flooded roads.

Additionally, the weather service is warning of rip currents with waves at about 3- to 5-feet along the coast, especially the south coast facing the Atlantic Ocean.
There is also a possibility for thunderstorms through Wednesday followed by another round of rain expected Thursday into Friday. Rhode Island could see another 1- to 3- inches of rain before the weekend.

Officials are also monitoring Tropical Storm Joaquin, which could impact Rhode Island this weekend. The remnants of the storm could bring even more heavy rainfall this weekend along with possible flooding, the weather service said.
