Kingston’s Camp Beach In South Kingstown Reopens For Swimming

State health officials had recommended closing the beach for swimming on Aug. 5 due to high levels of bacteria in the water.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — Kingston's Camp Beach has reopened for swimming, officials with the Rhode Island Department of Health said Tuesday.

State health officials had recommended closing the beach for swimming on Aug. 5 due to high levels of bacteria in the water. Bacteria levels have since returned to normal, according to state officials.

RIDOH officials said they will continue to monitor and review beach water quality regularly to ensure safe bathing throughout summer.
